SUMMARY:Old Milk Mooney\, They're There\, Julia Finegan
DESCRIPTION:Tickets \n7pm doors | 7:30 show  \n$15 adv/$20 doors | BYOB \nAbout the artists: \nOld Milk Mooney (bandcamp) (instagram) (spotify) are the New Haven based\, self proclaimed\, pioneers of Boop-Core: a genre that sounds suspiciously similar to folk. With an exploration of the human experience through heartfelt harmonies and lyrics\, Dan and Lars bring a sense of playfulness and beauty to the lonely reflective moments of life. \n \nThey’re There (instagram) is the solo project of Lars\, a non-binary musician based in the New Haven area. Their evocative melodic vocals are accentuated by the rhythmic drone of the banjo\, taking listeners with them as they delve into the struggles of self-care\, finding oneself\, and the desire for certainty in our uncertain time.\n \n \nJulia Finegan (bandcamp) (instagram) is a Philadelphia-bred community organizer and musician. When she writes songs\, she does it to tell stories\, ask honest questions\, and allow words to make nice noises when they stand all together in a line or a circle. She also runs a community choir called Pipechoir (bandcamp)\, directs a children’s choir and loves working outside in the sunshine and the rain.

SUMMARY:Sing A Secret: A Mindbody Approach to Voice and Song (FREE)
DESCRIPTION:Sign up HERE \nA free 2.5-hour introduction into an ecstatic mindbody approach to your voice\, for singers\, “non-singers\,” and everyone in between. \n\n\n\n\n“I am someone who was told they couldn’t sing at a young age. Yet in one session Tyler got me to sing with an openness that felt empowering and emotional. His teaching was insightful\, encouraging\, and helpful.” – Clare \n“I used to train my vocal so it hits a certain key & imitate other people out there\, but Tyler’s workshop empowered me to explore some deep emotions and to channel them just the way I feel… this is profound because in 2 hours I managed to drop my guard\, felt more confident with my sound & recognize my voice is a true gift that shouldn’t be hidden 💓 big thanks to Tyler.” – Cassandra S. \nWhether you’re a seasoned musician\, a proud shower singer\, or someone who’s never opened their mouth to sing\, this FREE workshop will give you the chance to discover and connect with the beautiful voice that’s been inside you all along. Through engaging exercises and group songs that are as fun as they are revelatory\, Sing a Secret helps everyone — regardless of their experience — to unlock the unique power and beauty of their own voice. \n“I had the pleasure of attending [Sing a Secret] last fall and witnessing the transformative\, transcendence of confidence that emerged among our small group. Tyler’s blind confidence\, faith\, compassion\, and encouraging energy towards us to beautifully sing with our naturally given voice produced inner and group acceptance and joy!” – Diana \nSince September 2015\, Sing a Secret has been presented around the world. Developed by Jonathan Stancato at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London\, it has since been presented all over England\, Berlin\, Paris\, and across the U.S. Thousands have sung their secret songs at settings as diverse as music festivals\, mindfulness bookstores\, the TED Talk headquarters\, historic churches\, and plant medicine ceremonies. \n“Tyler helped us create a fun and comfortable atmosphere to explore our voices and how they connect to a deeper felt sense of our entire bodies and our experiences. The work was transformative and I’d love to dive in deeper!” – Chris \nAbout The Instructor: Tyler Hathaway is a voice teacher and musician based in Philadelphia\, PA. He is trained in Inside Voice techniques by Jonathan Stancato in NYC. Alongside his vocation in the world of music\, Tyler is a practicing psychotherapist\, holding a Master’s degree at Antioch University in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a focus on expressive arts therapies. His teaching practice is additionally informed by his acting training at the Actor’s Workshop of Ithaca\, prior career as a collaborator and storyteller working in the film industry in Chicago and NYC\, and his formal education and gigging experience as a drummer. \nTo learn more about Tyler\, visit www.tylerdhathaway.com. \n“Tyler is very informative\, progressive and inclusive with his knowledge and teaching method. If you think your teenager would find this to be a good experience\, contact me at tyler.hathaway1@gmail.com\, and I would be happy to discuss whether an appropriate exception can be made. \n“[Sing a Secret] is a beautiful\, memorable\, powerful experience that I would recommend to anyone without reservation.” – Rachel \nI am committed to making my teachings safe and accessible to everyone. It is my highest priority to approach voice work and healing in a way that is anti-racist\, feminist-conscious\, LGBTQ- and genderqueer-affirming\, disability-adaptive\, and body-positive in every way.
